Two flights operated by Air Malta between Malta and Fiumicino, Rome have been delayed due to a technical fault in the aircraft leading to a deluge of complaints by flight passengers.

A flight to Fiumicino, Rome (KM612) which was scheduled for the 7:35am (today) has been delayed until 1:30pm

Meanwhile, a flight from Fiumicino, Rome which was scheduled to arrive to Malta (KM613) at 11:25am was delayed to 3:30pm.

The airline’s initial statement on Facebook indicated that the delay was caused by an operational disruption.

One of the passengers for the flight from Malta to Rome complained that only when they arrived to the airport this morning, they were told the flight was delayed for four hours, and that they had to wait until 11am until they were given more information about the flight.

A spokesperson for the airline responded to criticism in the comments under a post in the Facebook group ‘Are You Being Served?’, explaining that the flight was delayed due to a technical fault in the aircraft, reiterating the importance of not taking any risks in operating flights.
