In a letter addressed to President Joe Biden, Amazon has offered their services to help ramp up the national vaccine rollout, according to a Reuters report.
As President Biden enters his first full day in office on Thursday, one of his main priorities is expected to be addressing the COVID crisis in the country. He has said that he is aiming to vaccinate 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of his presidency.
This will require a major increase in the pace of the rollout. In the month since mid-December, when the United States began to rollout the vaccine, around 12.3 million doses had been given out.
Amazon worldwide consumer CEO Dave Clark wrote to President Biden that to help him reach his vaccine goal, Amazon is “prepared to leverage our operations, information technology, and communications capabilities and expertise to assist your administration’s vaccination effort.”
It remains to be seen how President Biden will respond to Amazon’s offer but the amiable letter marks an audible change in tone of the relationship between Amazon and the previous US President Trump, who had repeated, public
