gulfstream g650

Luxury air travel firm Flexjet is set to register one of the world’s most sophisticated aircraft, a Gulfstream G650, in Malta, according to Transport Malta.

Flexjet, which conducts its Europe operations from offices in Ta’ Xbiex and London, already has several Embraer Praetor 600 in its Malta-registered fleet.

The latest addition, the Gulfstream G650, is a large private jet which can transport up to 15 passengers a maximum of 7,000 miles without refuelling. It can fly at just under the speed of sound.

In 2014, it was the winner of the Collier Trophy, for having “strengthened business aviation through significant technological advancements in aircraft performance, cabin comfort, and safety.”

Flexjet is the only fractional provider of the Gulfstream G650, through fractional ownership and lease programmes.

The move adds to Malta’s growing reputation as a jurisdiction of choice for aircraft registration.

Malta’s 9H Registry consisted of over 665 aircraft by April of this year, a grwoth of over 500 per cent over the last decade.

Earlier this week, Wizz Air Malta announced plans to transfer another 78 aircraft to the Maltese jurisdiction.

Transport Malta said that another Gulfstream will be commissioned in the coming months.
