As from 1st July, fully vaccinated persons will be able to remove their masks in public. Announced by Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne on Monday, he said that this measure will be contingent on COVID transmission rates remaining low.
He added that groups of two persons who are both fully vaccinated will also be able to remove their masks in public, however groups of more than two people will have to wear a mask.
On Monday, Minister Fearne announced that Malta has reached the much-coveted herd immunity as 70 per cent of the population will have received at least one dose of the jab by Monday evening.
