The Dubai office of leading Malta-based digital experience agency ANCHOVY plc has completed work “in record time” on a customised online voting platform for the Arab Parliament for the Child, a council for children’s dialogue and discussion of ministers, and decision-makers across 17 countries.
Headed by the company’s strategic division, the “highly secure electronic platform”, was built in just six weeks from conception to deployment.
It incorporated a portal for members, administrators, and auditors to ensure votes and information were accurately managed and facilitated up to two rounds of voting.
User experience and reporting are said to have been paramount in the platform’s development, as it needed to cater for a variety of different ages and skillsets.
Ayman Othman Al-Barout, Secretary-General of the parliament, in discussing the first actions of the parliament, said that the election of Speakers of Parliament including the President, two Vice Presidents and all permanent committees, would be elected through a second round of voting by 31st July.
Subsequently, the voting was embarked on using ANCHOVY’s system, which it says served to ensure that all preliminary voting was done securely. The company also worked with local partner TechFirm to create the service.
The parliament has now convened, with elected members discussing the role of the child in fostering international peace.
Members expressed their opinions on a range of topics including how to make children feel safer as a part of society, and on the importance of this sense of safety.
