The Planning Commission has granted approval for the construction of a new drive-thru establishment on the corner of Commerce Street and Cross Street.

The new application cements the intersection’s budding reputation as one of the Central Business District’s main food destinations, with two chain establishments located a stone’s throw away on either side of it.

The industrial estate is estimated to be the place of work of just under 10,000 people.

In recommending the project for approval, the Planning Authority’s case officer noted that the new restaurant will have a customer area of approximately 40sqm (excluding sanitary facilities, circulation space, and serving area), a kitchen measuring approximately 53sqm, and ancillary storage of 30sqm.

Plans for PA/03917/21 show there will be four parking spaces, and indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The application was submitted on behalf of Doriette Tedesco, a director of Paceville Investments Ltd, a company operating Fluid – Rib & Steak House in Bay Street, St Julian’s.

Paceville Investments Ltd is owned by Raymond Camilleri.

Contacted for comment, Ms Tedesco declined to divulge any details about the cuisine on offer, explaining that a publicity campaign will be launched at a later date.
