Two Wizz Air Airbus A320 planes, one of which belongs to Wizz Air Malta, collided with each other in Suceva International Airport on 14th March 2023.

The Wizz Air Malta plane’s sharklet (9H-WBV) collided with the right wing horizontal stabiliser of Wizz Air’s plane (HA-LWZ). No one was injured, however it is unclear how long it will be until the aircraft will be flying again.

The incident occurred while Wizz Air Malta’s aircraft was attempting to taxi to the runway, and collided into the other parked aircraft according to Romanian press.

Publicly available data indicates no upcoming future flights for both aircraft, and a planned flight from the Romanian airport to Dortmund was cancelled as a result.

The plane HA-LWZ has been operational since April 2014, and was transferred to Wizz Air Malta in February 2023. Wizz Air Malta is Wizz Air’s latest subsidiary which has been operational since 27th September 2022.
